Installation and First Access

Locus.IA is a new software focused on privacy. During installation on Windows, follow these recommendations to ensure correct operation:

  • Access Permission: When opening for the first time, Windows may request permission for the software to access your local files for indexing. This is necessary for semantic search to work.
  • SmartScreen: If Windows displays an "Unknown Publisher" warning, simply click on More info and Run anyway. This happens because we are a new application and do not yet have a global reputation base in Windows.
🛡️ Security Commitment: Locus.IA is 100% offline. No data leaves your computer. We are a Brazilian company (Pereira Assessoria LTDA) with active CNPJ and physical headquarters.

Establishing the ESI Foundation

Before asking questions, Locus.IA needs to "read" your documents. This process is done locally on your computer.

  1. Open Locus.IA and log in.
  2. In the left sidebar, make sure you are in the 📚 LIBRARY tab.
  3. Click the + CREATE NEW BASE button.
  4. A window will open. Select the FOLDER on your computer where the PDF or Word (DOCX) files of the process or case are located.
  5. Give this base a name (e.g., "Silva vs Bank Process").
  6. Wait for the progress bar. When "✅ BASE CREATED!" appears, your documents are indexed and ready for research.
💡 Pro Tip: You can create separate bases for each client or gather case law into a single thematic base (e.g., "Moral Damages").

Encoding your Sovereign DNA

Teach the AI to write like you. The DNA feature analyzes your old petitions to copy your writing style and vocabulary.

  1. In the sidebar, click the ✍️ WRITING SHOP tab.
  2. Click the New/Train button.
  3. Give the profile a name (e.g., "Civil Petitions", "Client Emails").
  4. Select 3 to 5 files of your best pieces for that style.
  5. Done! You can create as many profiles as you want and switch between them in the selection box.

The Art of the Asymmetric Prompt

Locus.IA is not just a keyword search (Ctrl+F). It understands concepts. The way you ask changes the quality of the answer.

Avoid generic questions ❌ Prefer specific commands ✅
"Is there moral damage?" "Analyze the documents and list 3 arguments that ground the plaintiff's request for moral damages."
"Summarize the process" "Make a report of the facts narrated in the initial petition and cross-check with the witness evidence from event 45."
"Write a response" "Draft a preliminary response using the Aggressive Profile, citing the doctrine in my Library Base."
⚠️ Important: Locus.IA does not search on the internet (Google). It searches ONLY in your folder. If you want it to cite a specific law or doctrine, ensure that the PDF of that law/book is in the Indexed Base.

Remember: The more context you give, the better the AI works. Use action verbs like: "Analyze", "Compare", "List", "Draft", "Extract".
